Abstract

Objective To explore the mediating effect of positive mental health on job satisfaction and career identity of the clinical nurses.Methods A total of 300 clinical nurses were investigated with the Happy Enterprising Individual Questionnaire,Job satisfaction questionnaire and Career Identity Questionnaire of the Nurse.Results The job satisfaction of the clinical nurses was 57.3%,there was significant difference between clinical nurses who were at different levels of job satisfaction on the happy enterprising feeling and career identity (P <0.01).The dissatisfaction score of the happy enterprising feeling was (2.31 ± 0.26),low satisfaction score was (3.68 ± 0.42),high satisfaction score was (4.59 ± 0.38),these differences were statistically significant between the scores (F =7.68,P < 0.01).The dissatisfaction score of the career identity was (55.24 ± 6.37),low satisfaction score was (63.35 ± 5.46),high satisfaction score was (82.49 ± 7.62),these differences were statistically significant between the scores (F =9.34,P < 0.01).The varying dimensionality of happy enterprising feeling positively correlated with job satisfaction and career identity (r =0.226-0.337,P < 0.01).Conclusions Job satisfaction of the clinical nurses isn' t at high level.The positive mental health can affect job satisfaction and career identity.
