Abstract

The transcription factor CCAAT/enhancer binding protein beta (C/EBPβ) plays a vital role in the differentiation of a variety of cell types.As is known, it can decide the differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs), the adipocyte, regulate the differentiation between osteoblast and in chondrocyte.This review will describe the role of C/EBPβ in the differentiation of mesenchymal cell, especially in fibroblasts, adipocyte, cartilage cells and osteoblasts.With the application of the mesenchymal stem cells in regener-ative medicine in recent years, C/EBPβ will be a hot spot in the future.
