Abstract

In this study, pure [PVA: PVP] polymer blend film and MnCl 2 ·4H 2 O salt reinforced polymer blend films at different weight ratios (10–50) wt%) were prepared by using the casting method. The effect of salt weight ratio on the mechanical properties of the [PVA: PVP] polymer blend films reinforced by MnCl 2 ·4H 2 O salt was also studied. The experimental results obtained from the tensile test of the [PVA: PVP] polymer blend films reinforced by MnCl 2 ·4H 2 O salt increasing and decreasing in the value of Young’s modulus with increasing MnCl 2 ·4H 2 O salt weight ratios, the hardness value and the fracture energy value increases with increasing MnCl 2 ·4H 2 O salt weight ratio, thus they could be good candidates for hard adhesives with low flexibility
