Abstract
TiN thin films are produced on an iron surface by N + ion beam mixing. The mechanical measurements show that the N + ion beam mixing samples have high hardness and good wear resistance. The 5 × 10 16 N + cm −2 ion beam mixing sample has a beautiful golden appearance, and its reflectance curves within the visible range resemble those of pure TiN.
