Abstract

AbstractThe conductivity, Hall coefficient and thermoelectric power of p‐type InSb are measured in the temperature range 77 to 300°K. The experimental results are analysed on the basis of a spherical and parabolic valence band structure (with a heavy hole mass mh = 0.35 m0), and mixed scattering of holes by acoustic phonons and ionised impurities. The influence of phonon drag on the thermoelectric power is considered over the temperature range investigated.
