Abstract
A total absorption calorimeter has been used to measure energy flux in low energy X-ray beams from a Be - window Machlett tube. These beams were then totally absorbed in ferrous sulphate (Fricke) dosemeter solution and measurement of total ferric ion production used to calculate G-values. The results using 0·8N-H2SO4 solutions were 13·1±0·2 for 20 kvp, 13·0±0·2 for 15 kvp and 12·9±0·3 for 10 kvp beams. In 0·1N-H2SO4 the result was 13·0±0·2 for a 20 kvp beam.
