The COVID 19 pandemic found places of detention with inadequate spaces, insufficient medical services facilities, lack of reintegration services and, especially, a systemic overcrowding of penitentiaries. With the advent of the COVID-19 pandemic, the situation in prisons extended to the health of detainees. Overcrowding and unhealthy prison conditions have made them a high risk of contagion.
