Abstract

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a respiratory disease. The burden of COPD is increasing day by day. Existing methods of diagnosis are time-consuming and difficult to perform and not suitable for morbid patients. Sternomastoid muscle is an accessory muscle of respiration. It works at an increased load on breathing. Various respiratory muscles are studied and sternomastoid muscle is selected for the study. This research presents, Surface electromyographic analysis of Sternomastoid muscle is leading to a diagnosis of COPD.
