Abstract

In this paper, the maximum contact stress of line tooth of parallel axis line gear is studied. As a new type of gear, linear gear has the advantages of small size, large transmission ratio and light weight. Firstly, the tooth surface equation and force analysis of parallel axis line gear are given in this paper. Then the contact model of parallel axis line gear is studied and the formula of maximum contact stress is proposed. And then the influences of 8 parameters on maximum contact stress of parallel axis gear are analyzed. Finally, the theory maximum contact stress and the simulation maximum contact stress of a design example are carried out. By comparing two maximum contact stress values, it can be obtained that the formula of maximum contact stress proposed in this paper is correct.
