Abstract
ABSTRACT We discuss the conceptual and technical origin of this podcast and its function of highlighting the creative work of psychoanalysts both on and off the couch. We review the challenges and controversies associated with applying a psychoanalytic sensibility in atypical settings. The essential task of learning psychoanalysis proper is emphasized, and how its unique skills and experiences can benefit the many who can’t make it into an analyst’s office. I share with Stephen the pleasures I’ve had in both learning from and getting to meet so many of our deeply devoted colleagues.
