Abstract

In October 2019, the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China will celebrate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. During this rather long period, countries experienced different epochs in bilateral relations. It was also the “honeymoon” of the first half of the 50s and the crises of the 60-70s, the apogee of which was the armed conflict in the area of Damansky Island. After the collapse of the Soviet Union and the appearance on the map of the new state, the Russian Federation began a new page in bilateral relations, which have been progressively developing for almost three decades. Russia and China successfully interact in the economic, political, humanitarian and other fields and often have a similar position on many key issues on the international agenda
