There is no doubt that the appearance of such a series of monographs is timely and that there is a need for a comprehensive review of magnetic materials and their applications. This book deals with grain-oriented silicon iron, ferrites, high permeability materials, thin ferromagnetic films and permanent magnets in five separate sections, each between 20 and 30 pages long and thus shorter than review articles which appear regularly in both specialist and nonspecialist journals.
