Abstract

Continuing the paper begun in July 2003, pp.173-184. Although C.H. Spurgeon never visited the Antipodes himself, his influence was considerable, transmitted through his sons, the students of his college, and by his published sermons. His Australian followers did not all adopt his brand of Calvinist theology. They were sympathetic over his Downgrade stand, but did not feel the need to copy his withdrawal from denominational life. His influence was strongest in New South Wales.
