Abstract
The 0.795 eV photoluminescence line from GaAs:Nb is studied by Zeeman spectroscopy. It is compared with that of other transition ions in the d 2 configuration. We conclude that it corresponds to a 1A 1 → 3A 2 transition at a Nb 3+ (4d 2) substitutional ion.
