Abstract
From northern Oman, in Jebel Akhdar and adjacent oil fields are reported nine representatives ofcaprin dinudists (Caprininae) belonging to Praecaprina, Caprina and Offneria. These forms show a well defined biostratigraphic distribution within the Kharaib and Shuaiba Formations. The genus Offneria is represented by species having a wide biogeographic distribution, from western Europe to the Middle East (formerly regarded strictly European) and species restricted to the Arabo-African domain. The former group and Praecaprina are already present in the Late Barremian whereas the later is confined to the Early Aptian.
