Abstract
James Kim earned his Ph.D. in English from the University of Virginia in August 2003, specializing in both Asian American studies and eighteenth-century British studies. He is currently enjoying a Mellon Postdoctoral Fellowship at Pomona College, after which he will begin a tenure-track position in English at Fordham University. In addition to revising his dissertation, “Dialectics of Loss: Sentimental Irony and the Eighteenth-Century British Novel,” he is beginning a project on the politics and poetics of anger in Asian American culture. His favorite kung fu movie is Yuen Woo Ping's Tai Chi Master.
