Abstract
The article deals with the peculiarities of the current stage of activities and possibilities for further evolution of the Latin American Integration Association (LAIA) as one of the most important trade and economic organizations in the region. Special attention is paid to the current positioning of LAIA as a universal mechanism for promoting integration processes on the continent based on deideologized approaches. The author concludes that the Association's relevance has increased against the backdrop of crisis trends in some other Latin American entities.
