Abstract

ABSTRACT This paper sketches practical and speculative parameters of reversing the usage decline of Khoisan language(s) and ways of life by means of inclusive legislative interventions, political representation, economic empowerment and the popular realms through the mainstreaming of cultural aspects of southern Africa’s autochthonous communities. Its objective is to propose avenues, through identifiable international benchmarks, for a Khoisan revival and civilisational renaissance without resorting to reverse essentialism and romanticism that negates the complexity of Khoi and San traditions and the evolving dynamism of Khoi and San peoples.
