Abstract
We show that the second fundamental form of locally flat hyper- surfaces defines under certain conditions, a cohomology class in the Koszul- Vinberg complex of the multilinear maps from the algebra of smooth vector fields on the hypersurface with values in the space of smooth functions of the manifold. We discuss the geometric interpretation of the triviality of this class for convex locally flat hypersurfaces.
