Abstract

Objective: The objective of this study is to investigate the social technologies present in the municipality of Massapê, Ceará, and to associate them with the perspective of the communities benefiting from them. Theoretical Framework: The theoretical framework adopted is based on the premise that social technologies are constituted as a way of thinking about society as a participatory agent in territorial organization, therefore as critical agents and constructors of their development. Method: The methodology adopted for this research includes field activities, photographic records, and interviews with the local community. Results and Discussion: The results clearly demonstrate that the communities benefiting from social technologies participated in the process of constructing and integrating these technologies, contributing suggestions based on field experiences. Research Implications: The results are subject to observations for territorial planning purposes. That said, social technology is a tool that advances in communities and is part of improvements for these communities. Originality/Value: The contribution of the research is based on the advancement of the implementation of social technologies and includes the perspective of the communities.
