Abstract

The American Academy of Pain Medicine's (AAPM's) mission—to promote quality care for patients with pain through the advancement of the specialty of Pain Medicine—is an ongoing collaborative effort that is dependent on the contributions of many individuals. We would like to take this opportunity to recognize that effort and to thank all those involved in making our Academy a success: board members, committee members, professional staff, and especially those volunteer members whose tireless efforts on AAPM's behalf make our organization the success that it is. Although much remains to be done, much has been accomplished because of their invaluable contributions. AAPM volunteers devote what little free time they have to serving on committees, taskforces and in state chapters, meeting with legislators and others to promote legislation important to our interests, organizing meetings and conferences, writing and editing documents, reaching out to other organizations, and performing hundreds of other tasks that are necessary to our success.
