Abstract
The selection of official languages are always the most terrible event in a country with multi-lingual culture, However, the strategies for the language planning has achieved a great success in Singapore, bringing about benefits for the country and setting a great model for other countries. This article will introduce four major official languages of English, Malay, Chinese and Tamil, and discuss their significance for the development of this country.
