The Internal Clock and the Structure of Time Perception

Abstract

The understanding of time perception presents a series of nested problems. What is the source of temporal information? How is the information employed and stored? How are temporal discriminations and judgments made? What is the neural basis of these mechanisms? How does arousal affect them? I shall consider the development of the Information Processing Model of Timing and derive some consequences and implications from it.
