Abstract

By means of the perturbation method and with the consideration of the electron-phonon interactions, the ground state and the first excited state of the intermediate coupling polaron in a polar crystal slab are investigated, particularly, the varying of the polaron effective mass as a function of the slab thickness is given for the first time.
