Abstract
Abstract This chapter describes the human host factors as host gene products (RNA or protein) that critically impact the replication of dengue virus either positively (dependency or proviral factor) or negatively (restriction or antiviral factor). It covers: (1) recent methodological advances in the high-throughput identification of host factors; (2) salient examples of pro- and antiviral host factors; (3) conservation and divergence of host factor dependency for the related hepaciviruses; and (4) a discussion on targeting host factors to develop antiviral therapies.
