Abstract

Differential cross sections have been measured over the angular range 15° < θ < 55° for the reactions (t, t), (t, t́), (t, d) and (t, α ) at 38.0 MeV incident energy using self-supporting targets of 12,13C. Phenomenological optical-model analyses of the elastic scattering are characterised by potential ambiguities. Quadrupole and hexadecapole deformation parameters are derived from coupled channels analyses of the elastic and inelastic scattering for both 12C and 13C. DWBA analyses of the one-nucleon transfer reactions yield spectroscopic factors which are compared to other work.
