Abstract

The article examines the topic of Building Information Modeling (BIM) from the perspective of the owner in an environment that was not prepared correctly for later BIM integration. The paper explains possible benefits of BIM in later project life cycle phases, even when there is no proper BIM environment from preceding phases. The paper also presents three simple case studies of various projects in later project life cycle phases. The BIM model was utilized in these projects for various reasons. The end of the paper presents lessons that were learned and most important findings.
