Abstract

Vapor and solid phase infrared spectra have been obtained for 3-methyldiazirine in the 250–4000 cm −1 region. Vapor phase band contours, characteristic group frequencies, and the vibrational assignments for other substituted diazirines were used in assigning the fundamental frequencies. All fundamentals were observed except the CH 3 torsion which normally occurs below 250 cm −1.
