Abstract
The influence of the particle size distribution on an earlier electrochemical measurement of the oxygen ion diffusion coefficient at 76°C in La 0.50Sr 0.50CoO 3− y was examined. A value of 1.55×10 −13 cm 2 s −1 was found which compares favorably with the earlier value of 1.23×10 −13 cm 2 s −1 determined on the basis of a single characteristic particle size. The measured current differs only by a factor 1.3 from the calculated one, which factor can be attributed to the use of an idealized model with spherical particles.
