Abstract

This research purposes to study the influence of STEM-7E LC on students’ creative thinking skills in the topic of temperature and heat using quasi-experiment research with Pre- and Posttest Design. The subject is students of MAN II Batu Indonesia. They are distributed in the experiment (STEM-7E LC) and the control (7E LC) classes The research instrument is students’ Creative Thinking Skills Test with Cronbach’s alpha reliability of 0.803. The data is analyzed with t-test, N-gain, and effect size. The result shows that the STEM approach can increase creative thinking skills as indicated by the significantly higher average skill score obtained by the experiment class. The operationalization implementation of STEM-7E LC model has a “very large” impact than 7E LC class in increasing students’ creative thinking skills. The experiment class students give higher positive responses than the control class for the learning process.
