Abstract

This study examines the influence of organizational structure on job performance in the Nigeria context, using universities in the western region as a case study. The study made use of primary data, the primary data was made up of a well-structured questionnaire in Likert-scale format which is distributed to various administrative departments of universities in the western part of Nigeria. Findings revealed that that organizational structure has a significant relationship with job performance in Nigeria firms. However, there was weak negative relationship between organizational structure and job performance in Nigeria firms. Proper organizational structure in the organization will reduce role conflicts and avoid stress to manager, it will also specify span of control.
