Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of learning orientation and leader heuristic transfer on employee creativity, and to observe their effects through the employees' creative self-efficacy. Learning orientation is expected to provide another perspective for looking at creativity through the learning perspective. The leader heuristic transfer is a new form of leadership that is developing beyond the intrinsic motivation mechanism. Transfer articulation heuristics are used for pattern recognition, discovery, and problem solving. The research was conducted with the operational and maintenance departments' employees in the telecommunications industry. The analytical methods used were multiple regressions and hierarchical regression. One result showed that learning orientation had no effect on employee creativity. Another result showed that leader heuristic transfer was positively and significantly related to employee creativity. In addition, self-efficacy did not mediate the effect of creative learning's orientation and that of leader heuristic transfer on employee creativity.
