Abstract

High-temperature fluxed melt crystal growth in the Na 2OB 2O 3BaO system has been investigated. The width of concentration and temperature ranges of crystallization of the barium betaborate phase has been determined. β-BaB 2O 4 single crystals were grown by the top-seeded solution growth method. An attempt is made to establish a correlation between the fluxed melt composition and the nonlinear properties of the β-BaB 2O 4 single crystals at constant parameters of crystallization.
