Abstract
High-temperature fluxed melt crystal growth in the Na 2OB 2O 3BaO system has been investigated. The width of concentration and temperature ranges of crystallization of the barium betaborate phase has been determined. β-BaB 2O 4 single crystals were grown by the top-seeded solution growth method. An attempt is made to establish a correlation between the fluxed melt composition and the nonlinear properties of the β-BaB 2O 4 single crystals at constant parameters of crystallization.
