Abstract

Objective To explore the influence of family caring and self-efficacy on the quality of life in patients with type 2 diabetes, which was the basis of making intervention measures for type 2 diabetes. Methods 355 patients with type 2 diabetes were investigated with Diabetes Specific Quality of Life Scale (DSQL) ,family APGAR index(APGAR) and General Self-Efficacy Scale(GSES) ,to measure the quality of life and social-psychological factors. Results There was significant difference on the total score and all dimension score of DSQL between the better family caring group and the bad family caring group; and there was the same re-suits between the higher self-efficacy group and the lower self-efficacy group. The total score of APGAR, duration, total score of GSES and age were chosen into multiple step regression equation. Conclusion Family caring and self-efficacy were the main factors that influenced the quality of life of the patients with type 2 diabetes, and it should be strengthen to interfere these social-psychological factors.
