Abstract
Natural gas hydrate (NGH) has great potential for exploitation, which is a new, clean and effective energy. THF hydrate has properties similar to methane hydrate. Hence, is widely researched to provide fundamental properties about hydrates. In this study, an experiment about THF hydrate formation accompanied with oxidation reaction under weak electric field was conducted. The results indicated that the peroxide of THF could prevent THF hydrate formation. The higher the content of peroxide could result in longer induction time. In addition, induction time increased with the existence of electric field. However, the electric field has little influence on the THF hydrate formation time accompanied with peroxide of THF.
