Abstract

Ejector refrigeration system has been used popularly for its simple structure, fewer moving parts and fully use of low grade heat. Ejector is the main part of the ejector refrigeration system, and the structure and size design of ejector strongly affect the performance of refrigeration system. Mathematical model of an ejector refrigeration system was developed and the influence of different ratio of throat area and mixed area on performance of refrigeration system was analyzed. Results show that under the given operating condition there exists an optimal ratio of injector nozzle throat area to the cylinder area of the mixing section making the best performance for the refrigeration system. When the optimal ratio value kept, the cooling capacity, heat requirement, injection coefficient and COP reach the maximum value at the optimal ratio value while the pump power reaches the lowest value.
