Abstract

Two experiments were conducted using Broad Breasted Large White turkey breeder hens to test the effects of feeding diets containing two levels of calcium, 2.5 and 3.5%, and three levels of dietary phosphorus, .3, .4, and .5%, on egg production and hatchability of fertile eggs. Both experiments utilized eight replicates of five individually caged hens per treatment. Egg production was not significantly affected in either experiment by the various levels of calcium or phosphorus. A significant increase in hatchability of fertile eggs was observed due to both calcium and phosphorus level.
