Abstract

Objective To explore the effect of the clinical pathway teaching method on peripherally instered central catheter ( PICC) complications after nursing students maintained.Methods Totaled of 120 nursing students were randomly divided into the experi-mental group 6 team (n=60) and the control group 6 team (n=60) .Nursing students in the control group were taught in the traditional way of one to one , nursing students in the experimental group were taught in the way of the clinical pathway teaching method .The occurrence of complications after nursing students maintained were observed and compared between the control group and the experimental group .Results Incidence rate of complications was significantly lower in the experimental group than that in the control group χ2 =6.154 ( P〈0.05 ) .Conclusions The clinical pathway teaching method can make nursing teather and students more standard in PICC -maintenance , decrease the mistake and incidence rate of complications , and improve the quality of nursing students in PICC -maintenance.
