Abstract

The influences of particle size of calcium oxide on copyrolysis products yield of Shanxi coal were investigated in the self-developed pyrolysis device. The results were showed that the material particle size had a significant impact on the pyrolysis process. With the decrease of particle size, the pyrolysis tar yield was decreased whereas pyrolysis gas yield was improved, especially, the component of H2 in pyrolysis gas was significantly increased. In this paper, the temperature distribution and the rate of volatile matter escape of the materials with different particle sizes were also analyzed, and the effect of the addition of calcium oxide on the kinetic parameters of the pyrolysis of coal was obtained.
