Abstract

This is a 'folly index' to a short text by the Argentine writer J. L. Borges, compiled as a parody of the Borgesian style of irony and conjecture. It is presented here as an heuristic example of 'How not to index a conceptual metaphor.' A brief typology is offered to differentiate the terms 'folly index' and 'faux index.'
