Abstract

Objective: To investigate, based on scientific literature, the importance of training rescue teams in medical emergencies. Theoretical Framework: Training rescue teams in medical emergencies is essential to ensure effective care in critical situations. This process involves simulating emergency scenarios, allowing professionals to practice quick decisions under pressure and strengthen team communication and coordination. Constant updating of knowledge is vital due to the continuous evolution of medical practices, while theoretical training in anatomy, pharmacology and the use of emergency equipment complements practical skills. Method: A systematic literature review, in which the search was carried out on Google Scholar and in the PubMed, Scopus and Web of Science databases, which resulted in the identification of qualitatively analyzed studies and, where possible, in a meta-analysis. Results and Discussion: The results obtained revealed that adequate training not only improves responsiveness and the standardization of procedures, but also contributes to the safety and quality of care, as well as generating confidence in professionals. In the discussion section, these results are contextualized in the light of the theoretical framework, highlighting the implications. Research Implications: The practical and theoretical implications of this research are discussed, providing insights into how the results can be applied or influence practices in the field of urgent and emergency care. Originality/Value: The study incorporates pertinent theories, corroborating the literature through contributions to practice in the face of rescue care in medical emergencies.
