Abstract
The elimination of imbalances in the socio – economic development of Russian regions is one of the most important goals of national development. This article provides a comparative analysis of enterprises and organizations by type of economic activity in various districts, and also examines the role of entrepreneurship in socio – economic development on the example of the central federal district.

Summary
Предпринимательство принято рассматривать как вид деятельности, в которой максимиза ция прибыли рассматривается как плата за повышенный уровень риска. [3] указывают на повышение значимости малого и среднего предпринимательства в условиях постиндустриального развития. Что малые и средние предприятия являются необходимым звеном в про цессе обеспечения общественного воспроизводственного процесса и, как следствие, повышении уровня социально экономического развития территорий. [5] отмечают, что именно ограниченность ресурсов, ис пользуемых малыми предприятиями, зачастую является причиной того, что жизненный цикл орга низаций малого предпринимательства является очень коротким. [6], государственная поддер жка малого предпринимательства в развитых является оправданной с экономической точки зрения мерой.
