Abstract
The benefits of the use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) to treat and manage mastitis in dairy herds is well reported of reducing inflammation and for mediating endotoxin-induced effects. While there are few comparative studies in mastitis treatment, several products have been studied and outcomes reported for a range of outcome measures. This article briefly reviews the mechanism of action of NSAIDs and the role they play in the treatment of bovine mastitis, and expands on some recent research.
