Abstract
This article investigates the impacts of work on the mental health of military police officers in Amapá, considering challenges such as exposure to risk, long working hours, and pressure for immediate results. The objective is to analyze how the work environment affects their mental health, identifying stress factors and consequences. The literature review highlighted that these working conditions contribute to occupational stress and negatively affect the mental health of police officers. The analysis of the literature revealed that the main sources of stress include imbalance between effort and reward, lack of organizational support, and exposure to traumatic situations. These factors contribute to the development of conditions such as anxiety disorder, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder. The study also emphasizes the importance of intervention strategies to mitigate these impacts and promote the mental health of police officers, improving their well-being and effectiveness at work.
