Abstract

ABSTRACT The article analyses the hybrid threats and challenges of post-truth politics to international and national security. It is asserted that post-truth politics accompanies both modern national and international information processes enhancing their hybrid nature. Emphasis is placed on the advanced research aimed at clarifying the means and methods of counteracting destructive hybrid influences (mainly, in the information field) in the face of an increased post-truth politics. It is alleged that decisive actions of governments, non-governmental organizations and individuals (activists) are needed to solve this problem, because the social future with the post-truth atmosphere in which scientific facts would be challenged, will be extremely dangerous to all including its creators. It has been proved that in the post-truth era in order to guarantee a ‘soft’ national and international security the response to hybrid threats should provide and require complex responses and combine counter-aggression in all areas of the hybrid war. The unity of the purpose and goals of the people of the state and/or other entities (international governmental/non-governmental institutions) to achieve a high level of cohesion is critical to counteracting methods of hybrid impact.
