Abstract

The present study attempted to explore the impact of a “Creative Movement Program” on 5-6-year-old children's creative thinking skills and creativity in movement. The sample consisted of 40 children selected among those attending a preschool affiliated with the Adiyaman Provincial Directorate of National Education in the 2019-2020 academic year. After dividing the sample into experimental and control groups, we implemented the program for the experimental group for 11 weeks. The control group, on the other hand, followed their regular program in the school. We collected the data using a demographic information form, the “Torrance Test of Creative Thinking (TTCT),” and the “Thinking Creatively in Action and Movement Test (TCAMT).” The findings revealed significant differences between the groups by their posttest TTCT and TCAMT scores in favor of the experimental group. We also documented the effectiveness of the program. Overall, we concluded the program to be highly effective in improving 5-6-year-old children's creative thinking skills and creativity in movement.
