Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of academic supervision and professional competence on teacher performance in Private Islamic Junior High Schools in West Jakarta. This research uses a quantitative approach with survey methods and path analysis techniques. The population of this study was 223 teachers working in private Islamic junior high schools in Kalideres and Cengkareng sub-districts, with a sample of 69 teachers selected with the Slovin formula. The data collection technique used is a questionnaire distributed through Google Forms. The results showed that academic supervision and professional competence directly affect teacher performance. Academic supervision also directly affects the professional competence of teachers. This research advises principals and teachers to improve performance through academic supervision activities and professional competency development.
