Abstract

SUMMARY By comparative examination of type specimens and freshly collected material, and pure cultures and by inoculation experiments, it was shown that Phyllosticta destructiva and numerous other Phoma-like fungi described on Malvaceae and Lycium halimifolium are identical with the ubiquitous weak and wound parasite Phoma exigua Desm.
