Abstract

With the establishment of the unipolar format, the Republic of Turkey faced new threats of weakening its importance as a strategic ally of NATO in the Middle East region. The existing risks of Turkey's eventual transformation into a peripheral state of North Atlantic politics have prompted the Turkish leadership, represented by the new government headed by Erdogan, to take concrete steps to review and constructively change the country's foreign policy course. Turkish policy, based on the concept of pan-Turkism, is aimed at developing relations and promoting the concept of Organizing Turkic-speaking states and forming the "Army of the Great Turan".
