Abstract
A coal ball from southeastern Kansas has yielded a specimen of Selaginellites crassicinctus Hoskins and Abbott attached to the stem Paurodendron fraiponti (Leclercq) Fry. New information concerning some of the various organs of this plant is offered. The entire plant is given the taxonomic designation Selaginella fraiponti (Leclercq) comb. nov. and is believed to be closely related to the extant taxon Selaginella selaginoides.
